32nd Flute Ensemble Competition – 31 May 2026

On Sunday 31 May 2026, the Victorian Flute Guild gathered bright and early at Camberwell Grammar School, Canterbury, for the 32nd Annual Flute Ensemble Competition.

More than 70 flute ensembles came together to perform, share their music, and compete in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. It was a wonderful opportunity for young flautists to gain valuable performance experience before an audience and to receive constructive feedback from our expert adjudicators.

The Victorian Flute Guild warmly congratulates all performers who took part in the 2026 flute ensemble competition, and thanks the teachers, families, adjudicators and volunteers who contributed to the success of the day.

Grand Finale

A special acknowledgement goes to all the performers who participated in the Grand Finale at the conclusion of the day.

The massed flute ensemble performed two works arranged for flute ensemble: “Be Thou My Vision”, the traditional Irish folk tune, and “Eleanor Rigby”, the well-known song by The Beatles.

The adjudicators commented on the fantastic sound of a room full of flute players playing from the heart, and thanked the performers for a beautiful performance. They also congratulated the cohesiveness of the ensemble and its outstanding director.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the conclusion of the 32nd Annual Flute Ensemble Competition.
