Internationally respected flautist and teacher Michael Cox will return to Adelaide for a six-day flute course from Sunday 13 to Friday 18 December 2026.
Michael has taught and performed throughout the world. His former students hold positions in professional orchestras across the United Kingdom, Australia and beyond, while his orchestral experience includes the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, London Mozart Players, London Sinfonietta and Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
The course will include individual and group tuition, with 11 places available for performers and a limited number of observer places. Pianist Leigh Harrold will accompany the course and recital.

Observer fee: $545, payable by 18 September
Performer fee: $845
Applications close: 14 August 2026
Performer places will be selected by audition. A $300 deposit is due by 14 August, with the remaining $545 payable by 18 September. Successful applicants will be notified by 4 September.
Performer audition repertoire
Applicants should submit an unaccompanied recording featuring:
- Martinu Sonata – second movement, opening to figure 1
- Ibert Concerto – first page
- J.S. Bach Partita in A minor, Allemande – opening to bar 19
- Brahms Symphony No. 4 – fourth movement solo
Applications must be submitted using a private YouTube video link. An electronic registration form is available on request.
Course fees include admission to the Michael Cox and Leigh Harrold recital at Elder Hall on Monday 14 December.
