DESCRIPTION:The Victorian Flute Guild is holding the 49th annual Leslie Barklamb Scholarship in 2022\, with preliminary rounds to be conducted on Sunday 28 August at Methodist Ladies’ College\, Kew. The finals concert will take place on Friday 2 September at Armadale Uniting Church. \nSections included: \n\n11 Years & Under\n13 Years & Under\n15 Years & Under (Margaret Brooke Award)\nVCE/IB Section\nIntermediate Section – 18 Years & Under (Nariida Coleman Award)\nSenior Section – 25 Years & Under (Leslie Barklamb Scholarship)\n\nEach section features set works and own choice pieces\, with time limits ranging from 3 to 15 minutes. Finalists from the Intermediate and Senior sections\, and winners from the younger divisions\, perform at the finals concert. \nAll performers are required to be members of the Victorian Flute Guild. Prizes are awarded as cheques or vouchers.

SUMMARY:The Annual VFG Flute Ensemble Competition 2022
DESCRIPTION:The 28th annual Flute Ensemble Competition\, presented by the Victorian Flute Guild\, is held on Sunday 22nd May 2022 at the Methodist Ladies College Music School\, 207 Barkers Road\, Kew VIC. \nThe competition includes the following categories: \n\nPrimary School Groups: Duets\, Duets plus One\, Small Ensembles\, and Large Ensembles (max time 5 mins)\n14 Years and Under: Duets\, Duets plus One\, Small Ensembles\, and Large Ensembles (max time 6 mins)\n16 Years and Under: Duets\, Duets plus One\, Small Ensembles\, and Large Ensembles (max time 7 mins)\n18 Years and Under: Duets\, Duets plus One\, Small Ensembles\, and Large Ensembles (max time 8 mins)\nOpen Section: Duets\, Duets plus One\, Small Ensembles\, and Large Ensembles (max time 10 mins)\n\nEach ensemble is required to provide adjudicators with a copy of the score for each work\, with bar numbers marked approximately every fifth bar. Time limits are strictly observed\, and all ensemble members were responsible for arriving on time and providing their own accompanists where necessary. \nAll participants receive a short review of their performance and a Certificate of Merit. Winners of each section are eligible to be invited to perform at the Annual Victorian Flute Guild Concert and General Meeting in September/October 2022. \nEntries close on 22nd April 2022.
