The Victorian Flute Guild invites you to a focused and enriching morning of professional development on Saturday 18 May, 2024. This year’s theme, “Building blocks and breakthroughs for teaching beginner to advanced flautists,” will explore both practical and psychological aspects of flute instruction.
Session 1 – Joanna Sullivan: Teaching the fundamentals of beginner flute
Discover creative strategies and effective lesson structures to engage and support beginner flute students.
Session 2 – Dr Simone Maurer: Psychology of Motivation and Procrastination in Music Learning and Practice
Learn how to recognise and address motivational challenges in students using evidence-based psychological research.
Attendees will receive a professional development certificate.

Audience: Flute teachers, students, and music educators
