2024 Leslie Barklamb Scholarship Competition Winners

On Sunday 11 August 2024, the Victorian Flute Guild hosted the 51st Annual Leslie Barklamb Scholarship at Methodist Ladies’ College in Kew, welcoming young flautists from across Victoria to showcase their talent in one of the Guild’s most significant annual events.

The Preliminary rounds saw participants compete across multiple age and experience categories, culminating in the Finals Concert on Friday 16 August at Armadale Uniting Church. The performances displayed impressive musicality, expression, and stagecraft, setting a high benchmark for the future of flute playing in Victoria.

Winners of the Junior Sections opened the Finals Concert with captivating performances that set the tone for the evening. Finalists in the Intermediate and Senior Sections followed with diverse and nuanced programs, impressing both the audience and adjudicators with their artistry and technical skill.
